This will become my new soapbox, my place to rant, rave and divulge. Most bloggers have a wide scope of interests and mine will be no different in that at any time I may decide to discuss sports, then history, politics, literature (all forms), societal issues and anything else I deem worthy of more than a cursory thought.
If I must be defined, I will state that most posts will reflect general life and how any of the above subjects affect the life we now lead. In general, I am agnostic (which is not atheist, but I believe religious views inherently impossible to prove or disprove,) believe in Liberalism (economic & cultural, not social liberalism- which is just socialist/communist philosophies in a lighter-named guise,) and personal responsibility.
I also believe history is our greatest teacher. We all have our belief systems imbued in some sort of historical context, whether it be religious, social or economic sense. What we tend to do, especially as Americans, is forget the facts of history if it directly contradicts our belief system. Environmentalism is a topic I will cover that is the most conspicuous of these belief systems.
Sports is a big part of my life. I understand the futility of such a past time, but I enjoy it anyway. Futility plays a major role in our lives as a society and usually has a negative connotation, which by definition, unsuccessful. But as human beings, we are unsuccessful a good amount of the time. Sports falls under futile frivolity, and I am at peace with that.
I reserve the right to, at anytime, also let loose on a rant for or against anyone, anything, any belief or idea. Your comments are welcomed and encouraged.
